McSweeney's Author Cards (Series 4)

Batter up! We’re back from the off season with the fourth series of the collectible author trading cards you’ve always imagined were possible but never dared to dream of!

For years you’ve seen athletes, web-slinging superheroes, orcs, and pocket monsters get the trading-card treatment, while you’ve sat in your room hoping upon hope that the heroes of the Harlem Renaissance or giants of the interwar expatriate Parisian scene would get their own. The wait is over, friends.

In 2024 McSweeney’s began publishing specialty author cards, and now series four has arrived. Each pack includes fifteen cards printed on high-quality paper, each featuring bios, trivia, little-known publishing stats, original illustrated portraits, and huge fun. (No chewing gum included.)

Series four also includes the deluxe Superstars of Children’s Fiction pack, featuring publishing legends of the picture-book world from Maurice Sendak and Tove Jansson to Jason Reynolds and Kate DiCamillo. Gotta catch ’em all!
