- Description
Who’s afraid of a Florida Woman is a collection of poetry, drawings and artworks by Molly Colleen O’Connell.
The idea for this book came in Autumn last year after a visit to Molly’s home – which is an artwork itself. Over the past 15 years, Molly has created a rich history and collection of comics, sculptures, airbrushed aparel, selfpublished zines, printed ephemera, performances, writing and video works.
All of her work is set in a meticulous, poetic and weird zone that overflows with detail, wit and humor.
In the past months, since their visit, Johanna Maierski and Stefanie Leinhos have been gathering and editing a collection that mainly focuses on Molly’s „poety“ and sketch-book work but also gives dense glimpses into a few selected bigger projects, like the Troll Monologue, a performance tour in full-troll, or Extra Extra Extra, an installation for a group show at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago in 2021.
