AKA A Very Balimore Xmas, In Hampden, Hon
I grew up in Baltimore, in Hampden, [in]famous home of the Hons. Baltimore can be a magical place full of the unexpected, and Hampden is one little enclave where you can find this on the regular. Ten years ago, I wrote a version of "A Visit from St. Nicholas" (AKA, "'Twas the Night Before Christmas") in a little pocket notebook, and this year, I dug it out and typed it up. I did take out a solid 90% of the swearing, but there is still some that would probably make this not small child friendly.
I should probably point out that I mean this with affection, not spite. I still have family in Hampden and live less than a mile away. And I don't really think Santa Claus has a habit of trying to beat anyone with a bat on Christmas Eve.
This is a 12-page 1/4 page zine (with color covers). It is printed on smooth, heavy paper, bound with staples, and has corners rounded to 7 mm. It features a poetic homage to Hampden and Christmas, with the original Moore poem on the facing pages. I take full responsibility for the terrible art (mine), including the picture of Santa that disgusted my youngest child enough that she thought that San'ny Claus would not come to our house if she colored it.
