- Description
Legendary comics editor Françoise Mouly, along with her daughter, writer Nadja Spiegelman, is once again blazing new territory. This political comics and graphics zine is unabashedly progressive, diverse, and radical. RESIST! combines some of the biggest names in comics (Roz Chast, Kristin Radtke, Miriam Katin, Cathy Malkasian, Laura Park, Lauren Weinstein, Daniel Clowes, Art Spiegelman, and many more) with powerful work by new names, some never-before-published, solicited through a democratic open call. Published under the slogan "Women's Voices Will be Heard," and containing work by mostly female artists, it bursts with energy, humor, and anger.
58,000 copies of the first issue of RESIST! were given away in January 2017 at the nation-wide women's march protests surrounding the inauguration. Now, with this, their second anthology, the mother-daughter editing team is creating a grass-roots model for celebrating our free press. Thanks to an outpouring of contributions from supporters, the thick 96-page comic-book size digest can be a free give-away in comic book stores, just in time to celebrate Independence Day. All moneys raised by store orders covers production, printing and distribution costs.
