misfit cinema journal number two is mostly just one big story called “anything to make them feel less alone” that involves one day in northern virginia in 1998.
there’s a lot of movie talk in there… john waters, buffalo 66, dave foley, high art and, especially, gus van sant’s remake of psycho. there’s also a lot of music talk as the story involves a riot grrrl band and it all builds to a climactic fugazi concert in a student center.
also in this issue is a visit to the vista theatre in los angeles and the back page is devoted to a tane mcclure movie directed by gary graver.
