Diary Visions Zine #2: William Burroughs

This issue examines the work and life of the groundbreaking Beat novelist, particularly how he used the diary as a mode of expression.

Burroughs led a nomadic and difficult life and felt he was afflicted by an "ugly spirit." He sought consolation and redemption through writing, art, friendship and cats. 

His diaries were a mode of expression that he returned to again and again as part of his singular vision - a vision dedicated to escaping the forces of coercion and control in a world increasingly dominated by war, addiction and alienation.

This issue of Diary Visions takes a broad look at his life and career and how he used the diary form.
