"Currently I am working with the themes of adult anxiety and the coping mechanism of childish absurdity. I look to what originally sparked my daydreaming, exploring the woods, old buildings, and corn fields by where I lived while also being fascinated by narrative art from comic books, movies, and cartoons. I also currently draw inspiration from Pop, Surrealist, Outsider, Pacific Northwestern, Oceanic art. This leads me to create characters and environments in snapshots of absurd narratives in flattened isometric surfaces. I am more interested in exploring the design of the composition and how it interacts with the surface than portraying a naturalistic scene in proper perspective."
