| The Art Of Joe Coleman.
Visionary apocalyptic painter Joe Coleman's oeuvre explores in excruciating detail the artist's fascination with the junctions between saint and sinner, sacred and profane, holy and horrifying. Using a single-hair brush and jeweler’s magnifying lenses, Coleman packs his canvases with hallucinatory detail. Coleman's subjects range from John Dillinger and P. T. Barnum to outsider artist Henry Darger and Gangs of New York-era mass-murderer Albert Hicks. His work has been shown at the American Visionary Art Museum, the Hiëronymus Bosch Museum in Rotterdam, and the Center on Contemporary Art, Seattle.
This hardcover book includes 150 full-color pages of reproductions and glorious details of his most recent works, plus in-depth keys to each of the major paintings in the book, essays, and a bibliography.
Including essays by: Asia Argento, Jack Sargeant, and Anthony Haden-Guest.
